ProCon 2026 – International Professional Activities Congress

Sponsors: IEEE Bangladesh Section & IEEE Signal Processing Society Bangladesh Chapter.

Organized by: Bangladesh Army University of Engineering & Technology (BAUET), Qadirabad Cantonment, Natore.

ProCon 2026 aims to bring together students, researchers, innovators, industry professionals, and IEEE volunteers through a series of technical competitions, workshops, poster presentations, project showcases, networking opportunities, and professional development activities Co-located with the 5th International Conference on Signal Processing, Information, Communication and Systems (SPICSCON) 2026. Participants will have the opportunity to present innovative ideas, demonstrate engineering solutions, learn and engage with experts through keynote and invited talks and expand their professional network within the STEM community.

Congress Segments

1. Idea Showcasing with Poster Presentation

Theme: Innovative Ideas for Future Science and Technology in the Signal Processing Society (SPS) designated area.

Get ready to showcase your brightest ideas through poster presentations. Science and technology enthusiasts are encouraged to participate and present innovative concepts before a panel of experts.

  • Team-based competition (Minimum 3 members and maximum 5 members per team).
  • At least one female member is required in every team.
  • Present your innovative idea through a poster presentation.
  • Opportunity to receive expert feedback and compete for exciting prizes.

Note that: This segment will be jointly organized by IEEE WIE Affinity Group of IEEE Bangladesh Section.

2. Pitching Competition

Join us on the pitching competition, which is an event where individuals or teams present their business ideas or projects to a panel of judges or potential investors in a concise and compelling manner. It is important as it hones participants’ communication skills, showcases innovation, and provides a platform to attract support, funding, or collaboration for their ideas.

You must prepare your presentation based on the following topics

  • Climate Change and sustainability
  • Waste and pollution management
  • IoT (Internet of Things)
  • Deep Learning/Machine Learning
  • E-Commerce and E-Governance
  • Wireless and Mobile Communication
  • Blockchain
  • Women Empowerment

Format of submitting your pitch deck. Each of your Decks should have at least 5 parts.

Problem Statement:

Clearly articulate the problem or need your project addresses.

Highlight the significance and potential impact of solving this problem.

Solution:

Introduce your product, service, or solution.

Explain how it effectively addresses the identified problem

Market Opportunity:

Define your target market and its size.

Discuss the potential for growth and market trends.

Business Model:

Explain how your business generates revenue.

Outline your pricing strategy and sales channels.

Competitive Landscape:

Identify key competitors.

Highlight your unique selling points (USPs) and competitive advantages

3. Research / Thesis Poster Presentation

Present your research, theses, or innovative project through a professional poster presentation in the Signal Processing Society (SPS) designated area. This session provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and professionals to showcase their work, receive valuable feedback from experts, and connect with fellow researchers.

Participants will present through:

  • Research Poster Presentation
  • Theses Poster Presentation
  • Innovative Research Oral Presentation

Detailed guidelines regarding poster formatting, submission procedures, and presentation schedules will be shared with registered participants.

Prize

  • (No limit on the number of members in a projects/theses team.)

4. Project Competition

Present your innovative engineering, technology, or software project at ProCon 2026. Participants will demonstrate practical applications of their knowledge while receiving valuable feedback from industry experts and academicians.

  • Team-based competition (Minimum 3 members and maximum 5 members per team)
  • Engineering and technology project showcase
  • Software and hardware project demonstration

5. Debate Competition: Emerging Technology

ProCon presenting a debate competition, where the art of rhetoric meets the thrill of intellectual combat. Our competition is a melting pot of diverse ideas, where participants engage in thought provoking battles of wit and persuasion. We believe in the power of articulate expression and critical thinking to shape narratives and drive change.

Debate Details:

  • Format: Asian Parliamentary (AP)
  • Team Members: 3 (Mandatory)
  • Topic: To be announced before the event (Like: Artificial Intelligence: A Catalyst for Global Peace or a Threat to Humanity?)
  • (Online + Offline)
  • Preliminary round: 08 August – 09 August (Hybrid)
  • Platform: Hybrid

Registration payment of the team must be completed before or on 7 August to participate in the preliminary round.

Prize

  •  Best debater of the final round: 1000 BDT
  • (Number of members in a group is three.)

6. Professional Case Study

Join us for the Professional Case Study Challenge! This year, the challenge is elevated: teams must identify a significant, real-world professional problem within a given theme, analyze its complexities and propose an innovative, executable solution. This challenge requires smart strategy and technical execution.

Case Study Themes (Fields of Interest)

Teams must select one of the following comprehensive themes under which their self-defined case study must fall:

The Case Study Challenge Process

The competition requires every registered team to participate in both the written submission and the live presentation.

Step 1: Selection & Report Submission (Deadline: August 05, 2026)

Select Theme: Choose one of the 10 professional themes for your case study during registration.

Develop & Submit Report: Complete your registration by uploading the final Case Study Deck (PDF). This report must comprehensively cover the following five parts:

The Case Defined (Problem Statement & Scope): Clearly articulate the real-world case/problem you have identified. Highlight the significance, context, and stakeholders of the challenge.

Strategic Analysis: Present your root cause analysis, data-driven insights, and key assumptions. Clearly state the objectives your solution will meet.

Solution & Technical Design: Introduce your innovative solution. Explain the technical foundation (engineering/science) and how it directly resolves the defined problem.

Feasibility & Implementation: Outline a realistic, phased implementation plan. Present a high-level Cost Analysis and the projected Impact/ROI (Return on Investment or social benefit).

Conclusion & Next Steps: Summarize the core recommendation and outline what the immediate next steps should be for the organization/stakeholder in your case.

Step 2: Live Presentation and Final Evaluation (Event Dates: August 13 and 14, 2026)

Present Live: Deliver your concise presentation within 7 minute  based on your submitted deck to the judges (Hybrid).

Q&A: Participate in the mandatory Q&A session. The final judgment is based on the quality of your submitted report and the effectiveness of your presentation and defense.

7. SPS Grand Challenge

Showcase your creativity and engineering problem-solving skills by participating in the Signal Processing Society (SPS) Grand Challenge. Teams will develop innovative solutions to real-world engineering and societal challenges while demonstrating technical excellence, teamwork, and presentation skills.

  • Team-based competition (Minimum 3 members and maximum 5 members per team)
  • Innovative engineering problem solving
  • Technical presentation before expert judges
  • Competition guidelines and evaluation criteria will be shared after registration.

  • (Maximum number of members in a group is five.)

8. SPGen – Signal Processing & Generative AI Workshop

SPGen is designed to introduce participants to modern signal and image processing techniques enhanced by Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI. The workshop combines theoretical concepts with practical coding sessions using real-life datasets.

Participants will learn to:

  • Apply essential signal and image processing techniques.
  • Build AI/ML models for classification and segmentation.
  • Utilize Generative AI for data interpretation.
  • Solve practical engineering problems similar to research and industry case studies.

SPGen Challenge Task (VTTT Mini-Challenge)

Day-01

  • Guided training using real-life examples.

Day-02

  • Solve a new problem within the allocated time.
  • Top-performing teams will receive recognition and certificates.

9. Networking & Engagement Session (Quiz Competition)
